Disable Playback of Mute Automation - Pro Tools

How to disable the playback of mute automation on a single track.

  1. Left click on the track view selector (outlined in red below).

  1. Left click on the word "mute" in the menu that appears.
  2. Press and hold down the Ctrl + Windows keys.
  3. Left click on the track view selector (now labeled mute) to disable mute automation on the track.

The track view selector will turn a darker shade of grey and the font becomes italicized indicating mute automation is disabled. I've drawn a red line around the disabled mute automation track view selector in the image below.

To disable mute automation on all tracks in a session (including hidden and inactive tracks).

  1. Left click on the track view selector of a track.
  2. Left click on the word "mute" in the menu that appears.
  3. Press and hold down the Ctrl + Alt keys.
  4. Left click on the track view selector (mute) to disable mute automation on all tracks in the session.
